A friend has given me a HP Pavilion Gaming 15-cx to fix - bascially he was having memory issues 2 years ago, causing BSODs and whatnot, which seemed to be fixed by thoroughly cleaning the RAM
slots. It worked fine for about 2 years, now hes having the same problem.
Now, it usually fails to even POST when there is a stick of RAM in the second slot - both sticks work in the lower first slot, neithe...
Most mobos will have their RAM
slots in this order: A1, A2, B1, B2. I had them in A1 and A2. Seems like it should be fine there, right? Nope.
